Margate 2015

Oh beautiful Margate

2015 August was when we decided with friends that we are going to rock Margate,ohhh back in the days when my friend and I used to get complimentary holidays vouchers, Gone are the days :(.... I still remember how the trip started, from a big number of people to a pretty 7, lol but that is a topic for another day. 

What a long trip it was, took off a common bus from Pretoria station and made it to Margate just in time before midnight , crazy right? but it was a very nice, hilarious trip. We made friends , friends that we never exchanged numbers with, but shared food in a bus with, or rather ate their food, because we didn't have food, seemingly people in the bus knew Margate's distant that is why they had to bring food, as for us the last time we ate was in Harrismith. 

I remember how we got so scared(well, I did,)  because the town was empty and only few people on the streets.

Oh well, we ended up getting a taxi to where we were booked, lol funny how everyone was quiet and for a change we couldn't understand Zulu, like we were scared, we just wanted to arrive at our lodge. Poor guys, I am sure they were aware, Lord was merciful on us and we arrived safely in one piece. 

We didn't get to do much , all we wanted was to sleep.  The next morning was a total bliss , our lodge was a beach front.

Isn't it obvious that people would get up  the morning after the arrival of the vacation to go to the beach? The beach makes everyone happy , right?  

Our first breakfast was too awesome , everyone was sober and looking forward to explore Margate.

We had everything planned, myself being the organizer, I had made an itinerary ready so we don't get confused and spend uselessly.

After breakfast it was grocery and booze shopping and I have never felt like a celebrity like that day, All eyes were on us and for some weird reason , we all looked like we were the only Light skinned people at the shopping complex, some called us coloureds, but our language kept the confusion going hahahahahahhah... 

Lol long before the vacation , while I was organizing the trip, I bumped into a poster on facebook, as I was looking for events happening in Margate, and walaaaaaaaa blackline club seemed like the ish plus Euphonik was going to perform there.. But then it was still in the afternoon, so we kinda spend the day at the beach,

barbeque at the house, and just social lubricants, if I may call them ,
ohhh and before I forget , we nearly got irritated by some locals, small boys nogal,  little did we know we will deal with them later on.

It was late when we prepared ourselves for the club, ohhhh my the excitement was exhilarating, we walked like 1km from the house to the club, for some reason we didn't think the worst, we were on a vacation and we just wanted to have fun.  

Got to the club and boom,we were like, ohhhhhkaaaay whats happening here, ? Where is Euphonik? It was dull, boring, quiet and guess what, the same guys that got us irritated at the beach were at the club, again, trying to get close to us, but that time we had our muscle men(yes we had guys on our side, remember I said we were 7)  on the side, lol so we were just relaxed and ready to talk if it came to a push. We couldn't wait to finish our drinks and rather skinny deep at our beloved house.

Adventure called us ,yipeee!!!!! It was one hell of a trip to Oribi Gorge, the west of Portsheptone. The place is amazing, a wonderful scenic area offering excellent hiking opportunities. We obviously hired a mini taxi to get to Oribi Gorge, the guy must have felt like crab, because a lot of shouting happened in that taxi, s**t went down just because of KFC MEAT LOL.....

Anyway, sooner the fighting was over and we were ready to explore and have fun. Only we got to know when we got there that the gorge's actually the highest in the world, SUCH A WOW! I never got to google it if its true , none of my business anyway, been there , done that.....

Walking down the suspension bridge was the most scariest thing ever, but hell yes the experience was out of this world.  We didn't get to the leopard rock , where you get to experience the momentarily paralyzing view, only because we had too much to drink and on that day even those that promised  to take zip line, failed ...Hahhahahahaha

Truth of the matter is Margate is a quiet, relaxed place.. I wish to wake up one day with a beach front house of my own, right in the heart of Margate..
